What Are Dental Exams?
A dental exam is a complete check-up of your entire mouth to make sure your teeth and gums are healthy. During an exam, we look at every part of your mouth—not just your teeth, but also your gums, tongue, and the inside of your cheeks.
We check for:
Cavities are small holes or decay in your teeth that need to be fixed before they get bigger.
We look for gum disease by looking for signs of swelling, redness, or bleeding in your gums that could lead to bigger problems (like extractions) if not treated.
We perform an oral cancer screening and carefully look for any unusual spots or lumps in your mouth.
We check how your teeth come together when you bite and make sure your jaw is working properly.
We may also take X-ray pictures of your teeth to see problems hiding between your teeth or under your gums that we can't see with our eyes alone.
Our experienced dentists will look closely at your mouth, discuss any concerns you have, and create a personalized plan to keep your smile healthy and strong!
